Which spelling list should my child complete this week?

When your child gets a 100% or 93% on his or her spelling pretest
then he or she needs to work on the challenge list.

If your child did not receive a 100% or 93% on the pretest, then
your child needs to work on the lesson list for the
week.

The Spelling Activities List is in the homework folder. You can
also click on the homework page(left side of page) to access the
spelling activities list

If you need another copy please let me know.

Your child is responsible for writing down down the homework on
his homework agenda!

What are Friday Weekly Report?

Weekly Report is a little progress report and another way for me to
communicate to you how he or she your child is doing in
class. The weekly note is attached to all the work we have done
for that whole week. It is also another way for you to give me
feedback on how your child is doing at home. Please make sure

What is the fluency goal for 3rd grade?

Dear Parents:

One piece of our reading program is fluency.
Your child’s goal at this time for an A in fluency for Unit 1 is
107 words per minute. That corresponds to 75th percentile for
3rd grade.
Unit 1 goal is 107 words per minute!
The new goal will change to 115 words per minute for Unit 2.
The next goal will change to 124 words per minute for Unit 3.
The following goal will change to 131 words per minute for Unit 4.
The last goal will chnage to 138 for 142 words per minute for
Units 5/6.

It is important that your child reads every night/day. This can
also be checked by reading out loud so that you are aware of how
your child is reading.

Please email me if you have any questions or concerns regarding
your child’s fluency.

Thanks!

Mrs. Lewis
