I grew up in a small town in Ohio and I recieved my Bachelor's Degree from
the University of Toledo in 1998. After working in the book business I
decided to move to California to be closer to family. In 2003
I earned my teaching credential from San Fransisco State University/TEI and
in 2009 I earned my Master's of Education in Best Practices from National
University.
I am married to Mr. Taormina (Mr. T) and we have a beautiful daughter named
Nora. We all live with our cats Miss Yvonne and Jynx. In my free time when
I'm not spending time with my family, I love to travel, take photographs,
drink coffee and read.
My main objective is to instill a love of reading while helping my students
master the California First Grade Standards. My role models are my second
grade teacher Mrs. Shea who recently retired after 34
years of teaching and my mentor teacher Myron Jantzen. They both taught me to
love and appreciate childrens books and I hope to pass that passion to my
students.
Each year I tell my students that we treat our class like we're a family. I
expect my students to treat each other, myself and our staff with respect. I
also expect them to try their best and be proud of their achievements.
