February 14, 2012: Red Foods Day & Friendship Day. Please send in red colored foods if you wish to do so. Your child may also bring cards for everyone in the class with his/her name on it. There will be an assembly at 8:30 am for primary grades for jump rope for heart.

Week 20
On Friday, Feb. 3rd we had a great field trip to the Crocker Art Museum. Thank you to Mr. Aduna, Mrs. Gidha and Mrs. Aslam for being the chaperones. Our next field trip will be to the Discovery Museum Learning Center in March. I hope that some students were able to go to the museums on the Museum Day on Saturday. I met Jaden and his family at the California Museum.

Week 19, 2012
Our field trip to the Crocker Art Museum will be on February 3rd. We will be coming back to school by 11:30 am for lunch. For the next two weeks the students will be working on a project related to the last story of the "Imagination" unit called "Roxaboxen". Directions for completing the project will be sent home soon.
Week 18, 2012
We finished the MYPAS tests this week. Your child's tests are being sent home next week. They have been given a progress report. The students have written their goals for this year 2012. Please review the report and send the progress report back with your signature.

We are working on MYPAS test this week. It stands for Mid-Year Performance Assessment of Standards. The progress reports will be sent home this week. Please review them with your child and set up an appointment to see me if I have requested you to do so. Your child's tests and classwork will be sent along with the reports. Please call me if you have any questions.

Veteran's Day holiday on Friday. No school! Read about Veteran's Day from the HW page link. No HW. We will try to finish everything in class. Animal reports forms with answers are due on Thursday, Nov. 10th. I will teach the students how to put their facts in 2-3 well written paragraphs. Thank you to all parents who donated school supplies, water, capri sun, cups etc. for our fall carnival. Thank you for helping your class and your school. Thank you to Mrs. Balbir, Mr. Aduna and Mrs. Chang for coming to the field trip to the Food and Nutrition Center.

Thank you to Angelpreet for bringing in a beautiful cactus plant with a pretty bloom for the classroom. We are studying deserts in science and ELD. I am still looking for a parent to help the kids make a map with the salt dough. Please send the needed supplies for the classroom ASAP. We need copy paper, binder paper, and 4 cloth book covers that you can keep at the end of the year.

Dear Parents,
Welcome to third grade and a new school year 2011-12. I hope that you are ready to begin a wonderful and exciting journey. My name is Mrs. Kulkarni and this is my sixteenth year of teaching, mostly as a Third grade teacher. I am delighted to have your child in my class and looking forward to working with you.
The school hours are from 8:10-2:25 p.m. Gates open at 8:00 am and will be locked at 8:10 am. First day of school will start at 10:10 am on Monday, Aug. 15th. It's a reverse minimum day. We will have regular school hours for the rest of the week. Thursday will be "Early Out" so teachers can meet and dismissal will be at 1:50 p.m. We are diving into curriculum right away. Homework will be given Monday through Thursday and will be due the next day. Please refer to the supply list link to see what your child needs for the first week of school.
