I have been a second grade teacher for the past 7 years. I graduated from
Mater Dei High School. My Undergrad, in Psychology, is from Vanguard
University. I graduated as a member of the Dean's List. I hold a Masters in
Education from Grand Canyon University. I graduated with a 4.0. My favorite
childrens' author is Kate DeCamillo.
My philosophy of education is to reach each student in a way that allows him
or her to see the value of what they are learning, to acquire a love of
learning, and encourage students to be proud of their individual
achievements. I will encourage my students to respect themselves and one
another in the learning environment of the classroom.
I will strive to provide a diversified program that will meet the
needs of individual learning styles of my students. My hope is that the
students will leave my classroom, self confident, believing reading is a
delight, and have a clear comprehension of all curriculum.
The parents and I are a partnership in the education and social
development of their child. Parents will feel great comfort in discussing any
concerns they have regarding their child’s education with me at any time. We
will use all resources available to allow their child to work at their
ability and have high confidence in their work.
To ensure my students are well rounded, together we will collaborate
on ways to incorporate technology, art, music, mediation, and discuss as well
as celebrate multicultural events, throughout the traditional curriculum
year. I will do my best to lead by example. The environment of the class will
be stable, nurturing, and an aura of excitement in learning.
Socially conscious, well rounded, students will emerge from my class
and will be prepared to move on to the next year of their academic career.
With a strong sense of self-worth, they will reflect on their year as a
positive learning experience and the year they grew beyond their imagination.
