I. SUBJECTS

  A. Religion
     -We worship God through prayer and Service,the Holy Mass,the Sacraments, 
      and the Sacred Seasons.
     -To understand the Church as a community of faith, a family.
     -Pray the Morning Offering, Act of Contrition, Creed, and Rosary.
  
  B. Math
     -Mrs. Marquez, Sr.Paulynne, Ms. Bertoli
     -Adding, Subtacting, Multiplying, Dividing
     -Fractions, Geometry, Metric Measures
     -Problem Solving, Mental Math

  C. Literature
     -Parents sign 20 min. Reading Log each night for Weekly Grade.
     -Decoding, comprehension, reference and study skills, vocabulary.
     -Accelerated Reader, independent reading, library, and book reports.

  D. Social Studies
     -Introduce students to the United States, to its history, its people.
     -Age of Exploration,Colonization, American Revolution, Westward Expansion
     -Emphasizes map and globe skills, vocabulary.

  E. Science - Ms. Bertoli
     -Systems in Living Things/The Cell
     -Water and Weather on Earth
     -The Solar System

  F. English
     -School-wide writing program of the writing process and different genres.
     -Lessons on grammar, mechanics, and usage skills.
     -Composition skills, creative writing, and poetry.

  G. Spelling - Unit spelling test every Friday.

  H. Music, P.E., Computer, Library, Art / Meet the Masters Program
     - Mrs. Jabro, Mrs. Carr. Mr. Capp, Mrs. Tupas


II.DISCIPLINE

  B.Responsibility Report Weekly - Sent home each Monday.

  C. Detention Policy
     -After school one hour Wednesday.
     -Parent notified in advance.


III. HOMEWORK

  A. Not to exceed one hour.
     -Homework will be assigned and corrected in class.
     -Homework is written on board each day. 
     -Students should write down homework each day in their homework planner.
     -All homework is done and kept in his/her individual notebook.
     -Social Studies tests on Thursday. Spelling test every Friday.
     -Unit Tests in other subjects when lesson completed.
     -Special projects at times.

  B. Student ability varies. Contact teacher regarding concerns in this area.
     I am available after school to assist with work or answer questions.

IV. MISCELLANEOUS REMINDERS

  A.Proper Uniform Attire and School Procedures - See Handbook Online.

  B.Absent Note  Required
    -Return to class after being absent with a note.
    -Marked absent unless signed note by doctor or dentist.
    -Sign in and out in Health Room when leaving campus for an appointment
     or any other reason.

  C. Snacks
     -Not allowed on the playground.
     -Healthy nutritious snack before recess.
     -Take forgotten lunches to the Health Room.

  D. Cell Phone Policy
     -Students may not call home for books, P.E. shorts, rides, etc.
     -Cell phones are not allowed on campus at anytime before or after school.
     -Cell phones must be left in the office and picked up at the end of day, 
      if you wish your child to have a cell phone when leaving the school
      premises.

  For a successful year, your student must give his/her full cooperation,  
  effort, and proper classsroom behavior.

  Students are responsible for:
     1. Constructive classroom participation.
     2. Completing homework assignments.
     3. Studying for exams.
     4. Having all proper materials.
     5. Appropriate conduct for maximum learning environment.


  I feel that it is very important to keep the channels of communication 
  open between parent and teacher. Please feel free to contact me anytime     
  regarding your child's progress. I am anticipating a good and
