This week there will be a Comprehension test as well as a Spelling test on Friday. We are currently on Unit 6 Lesson 1. The story we are reading is "Tomas and the Library Lady". In grammar, the students will be reviewing previously learned concepts.
Spelling Words:

Brandon was eager to learn about dinosaurs.
The package arrived at our home.
I won a bright wristband at the fair.
On Wednesday, we will have a quiz on the different forms of energy we are studying in Science.
There will be a Religion test on Chapter 23 this Thursday.
All spelling tests will now be done in cursive. The students will continue practicing in 3A to get themselves prepared for their spelling test in cursive. However, please feel free to practice at home. If desired, the students may take the proper 3A paper home in order to do so. Check out our Links page for a great website that can be used to print practice pages.
Multiplication and division timed tests are given on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Congratulations to those who have passed all of them successfully!
Students can earn 3 points of extra credit toward their Spelling grade each Friday if they type their weekly Spelling words and sentences 3 times each using Microsoft Word (or a similar word processing program). The proper heading must be included in the top left hand corner:
Name
Date
Mrs. Creason and Mrs. Wigmore
Spelling Words
Students can use any font style, size, and color they like, as long as we can read it. However, it must be done with 1.5 line spacing because that is what we use to type the essays written in class. They have started using Netbooks already, particularly Microsoft Word, and this is one way to get them to apply their newly learned keyboarding/word processing skills while reinforcing Spelling practice! Students should print a copy and turn it in on Friday. Lastly, if they do not type the proper heading they will only receive two points extra credit. The heading is very important because this is the school wide heading that is used for all student essays.
If you ever encounter printing problems, please email us a copy and we will print it for you or you can save it onto a flash drive (students will be learning how to do this too). The more practice they get, the more successful they will be!
–If a student is absent, it is the student’s responsibility to obtain any missed work/homework. Students have equal to the amount of days they are absent to make up the missed work. If the work is not made up, a "0" will be given.
*Except for Excused Absences
nAgendas are provided for each student. Please sign the Agenda nightly to ensure all homework is complete. We are checking for parent signatures on a daily basis.
Homework Policy
Homework will be given daily, Monday - Thursday. It is the student’s responsibility to complete and submit homework on time. On time work is work that is collected or checked off at the beginning of class. Anytime after that, it is considered LATE.
–Assignment turned in on time and complete = Full Credit
–Assignment turned in late = 1/2 Credit*
