Thank you to all those that donated items for our SUNSHINE KITS! We will be packing them up this week and delivering them to the Parish Office. They will choose parishioners they feel are in need and get the kits to them. What servants of Christ all of you are!

A few reminders and things to look forward to...
*The Student Council is sponsoring a SHOE DRIVE from now until June 1st. It's time to go through closets and clean them out. Bring any shoes you would like to donate to school. They need to be free of holes and in decent condition. Please no heels. They will be donated to the less fortunate in Africa.
*The VARIETY SHOW is Friday, May 25th with two performances at 9:30am and 1pm. Students are to wear their costumes to school on Friday with regular school shoes. You will need to send in uniform clothes as well to change during performances. It will be quite FANTASMIC, so you won't want to miss it!
*Our last field trip of the year is coming up on Monday, June 4th to the Midway Museum in downtown San Diego. We are participating in the Educational Program focusing on how sailors used geometry in their work. The permission slip came home today so please fill it out and return by this Friday with payment. I will need enough chaperones/drivers for 25 so please check your calendars! Thank you!
*The 3rd Annual SJA Field Day and BBQ is fast approaching on Monday, June 11th. We are once again offering a HOT DOG lunch for those that want to order. The order form came home today and needs to be returned by June 7th with payment. If you choose not to order lunch, please remember to bring your own that day.
*Make sure that you are continuing to work on your BOOK REPORT! The oral presentations are on June 7 and 8. Odd-numbered students will present on Thursday and even-numbered students will present on Friday. Parents are invited to attend and also enjoy some refreshments.
The oral presentation should be no more than 5 minutes long. They will be graded on the following criteria:
*eye contact *clarity of voice *expression and pace
*preparation *organization *costume
Remember it is to be presented in the first person, as if they are the main character. They should be creative in how they talk about the story and practice being the character. Add attitude to your presentation, talk like them, use gestures. Have fun with it! Please remember to bring costumes to school the morning of your presentation and you will change after lunch.
*CONGRATULATIONS to SARAH, our SUPER STAR of the WEEK!
