When can I come get help?

You can see me during my office hours, unless I have a meeting, yard duty, or practice.

How do I know what my grades are?

Grades are posted by student ID number almost every Monday in the window of my room. You can also come and ask me during my office hours.

What are your office hours?

These are the times when I am available for you to see me to get help, ask about grades, or anything else you might need. My office hours are mostly before school from 8:00 to 8:25, at lunch (let me know if you want to see me at lunch.), and after school until 4:00.

How can parents check my grades?

Parents are welcome to come by during office hours or make an appointment. Parents can also send a note to the front office for a SCHOLARSHIP REPORT on any Monday (Tuesday, if Monday is a holiday). Students then take the REPORT to all teachers and the teachers will write down the current grade. Parents should expect the SCHOLARSHIP REPORT at home on Monday night. Parents can also send me an email with the request for grades and I will email them to you.

Why are my grades not good?

90% of the time, low grades are the result of missing assignments. Make sure you turn in ALL assignments and turn them in ON TIME. For specific answers, come by during my office hours.

Can I make up missing assignments?

No! I do not accept late work unless you were ABSENT. You have 2 days for every day you are absent to submit the work.

What if it's a handout that I'm missing?

Unless you were absent, my policy is that you get one handout, you should be responsible enough not to lose it. However, sometimes extras have been made and you can find them in the box in the room.

Where should I put my assignments when I need to turn them in?

All assignments should always be put into the appropriate, labeled baskets in the room.

Can 6th graders play afterschool sports?

There are many sports, flag football, volleyball, cross country, co-ed soccer, girls and boys basketball teams, a co-ed wrestling team, and co-ed track for 6th graders. All sports are competing with 6th, 7th and sometimes 8th graders except basketball. For more information, see our website sports page.

How should I label my papers?

On the upper right corner, you should have your first and last name, date, period, assignment, and book (if used). See the samples in the room.

Where is my homework?

It's in the "black hole", otherwise known as your backpack. You can also check your books. Remember, late work is not accepted. :)
