How do I check my child out early?

Please go to the office and sign your child out. The office will
call your
child to come up. Please let them know if your child will be
returning that
day or not.

May I help in the classroom?

Of course! You must have a new volunteer packet turned in to the
office and
a TB clearance on file.

How much help should I give my child on his/her homework?

Give them as much support as possible. Don't do it for them, but
give them
lots of help and prompting if necessary. Homework will always be
something
we started together in class. I am more concerned that your
child understand
the concepts we are working on than how much help you gave them.
Please
remember not to do it for them, but to "re-teach" and
support the learning at
home. You will not be there to help them with the test, so make
sure they
can do it on their own.

When is a good time to contact you?

E-mail is a great way because I can reply to you when I have a
moment. If
you need to have a longer conversation with me, please let me
know ahead of
time you will be coming in so I can make sure to be there free of
distractions. Notes work well too as long as your child remembers
to give
them to me. You may also call the office and leave a message. I
will
probably not be able to return your call until after school.

Is there extra credit?

In science students may do any "lab zone" activity for 10 points
extra credit. These are located int eh text book. They must
perform the experiment and do a 1 page write up including:
prediction, materials, steps, & outcome. These are due by the
time we finish that chapter in class. .
