Students will begin their SFA (reading) class the second week of school. Once SFA starts they will receive a reading log.
Students are required to read 5 nights a week. On the reading logs:
Day 1 = Friday or any other day over the weekend (a new reading log is passed out every Friday)
Day 2 = Monday
Day 3 = Tuesday
Day 4 = Wednesday
Day 5 = Thursday
Please make sure your child does all 5 each week and is turning it in on Fridays. Students are always required to complete 5 days on their reading log even if there was no school one or more days that week. PLEASE NOTE: Late reading logs will not be counted towards their grade or towards SFA CAFE (unless the child was absent on Friday). If your child is absent on a Friday their reading log is due the day they return. Thank you for your support on helping your child read at home each night!
I have attached an electronic copy of the reading logs so you can print one out any time your child loses his or her reading log. Please note that there are 3 different reading logs for first graders. Please make sure you are printing out the correct reading log for your child.
