Any incomplete homework will be done during the morning recess. If work is still not complete,
it will be sent home to be finished that day & it must be returned the following day. If homework
is not returned that next day, the student will be out for every recess until work is completed. In
addition, the student will lose LifeSkills Friday privilege for that week.

Please encourage responsibility and provide a routine time and place for your child to do
homework.

First, and foremost, have your child practice reading books at his/her
level every day for at least 15 minutes. Help your child learn phonics
and high frequency words. Practice fluency by timing your child for one minute and
counting the number of words read. Speak with Mrs. Gorospe about specific concerns you have.
She will be able to provide additional suggestions.

LifeSkills Friday (for 20 minutes before the end of every Friday) is a privilege earned by students for

positive behavior during the week (pulling no more than 2 orange circles for the week). LifeSkills
Friday is typically done as a grade level so students choose one of two activities to participate in.
