Frequently Asked Questions: This page contains answers to common questions of students and parents.

How do we choose a book at the appropriate level?

Five Finger Test:  Have your child read a page aloud to you.  Count each 
error on your fingers of one hand.  If you get to five, the book is too 
difficult.

How long show homework take my child?

It shouldn't take longer thatn 30 minutes for the math and homework packet.  
Then spend 20 minutes (minimum) reading.  If the work is taking longer than 
that, please contact me.

What happens if my child doesn't do the homework?

If it is the math homework, they complete it during their times (recess) the 
next day.  If it is the weekly packet, they miss Lifeskills Friday privelege 
time.

What can I do to help my child?

Read with your child as often as possible.  Talk to them about their day. Be 
available to answer questions about homework.  Consult with your teacher for 
extra activities.

What if I don't understand the homework.?

Write a note on the homework page you don't understand; complete the other 
pages.
