News: In Social Studies this week, we will continue Unit 4 – Life in the Colonies. We will take a break
from the States for a couple of week and start next trimester with both the states and the capitals. This
week we will be filling out opinion sheets on how the students did this trimester on learning all 50
States.

This week is a shortened week, so we will only be meeting for Language Arts on Monday and Thursday.
This Thursday we will take the 4th CARS assessment, which checks the student’s comprehension. Next
week we will start writing our Response to Literature, which is based on “The Coming of the Long
Knives.”

In Math this week, we will be finishing up AC Math assessments and continuing review on Chapter 4,
Lesson 9 as it has proven very difficult for many students. We will also be assessing basic
multiplication and division facts. Please continue to use the website: ca.gr5math.com. The Student
Works Access Code is E625B44F45. I have heard from many parents the website is coming in handy!!
Thank you for checking it out.
