Does Ms. Pettit accept late work?

If you do not have your homework on time, it will be accepted late for
partial credit. You only get to use one Oops! Pass per trimester to use on
a late assignment to receive full credit, so use it wisely.

How are the points determined for the workbooks?

Every section in the workbook is worth 10 points. If the section
is complete on time(at the beginning of class when the student walks
in the door), the student will receive a stamp. The stamp equals
10 points. If the student completes the section by test day when
we turn the workbook in, he/she will receive 5 points. If it is
incomplete, he/she can still earn up to 3 points.

When I see (E) and (O) on Snapgrades, what does that mean?

Because I see the students for one period every other day, I have students
who I see on odd days and others who I see on even days. I have started
using an (E) to stand for even and (O) to stand for odd in order to
differentiate between the two groups. It allows them to know exactly what
day something is due.

What is this interactive CD?

This CD offers many things to supplement the textbook for the students. It
offers an audio that reads the textbook to the students. It also has the
workbook on PDF file in case the student needs to print off a page because
it was lost. Another function shows a step-by-step guide on how to put
together a powerpoint presentation including how to insert images. There is
another funtion that helps to organize assignments onto a calendar with
reminders of when it is due. Along with that, they can input their grades
to log that as well. I was very impressed with the CD when I took a look at
it, so it will hopefully prove to be beneficial to the student as well.

What are Oops! Passes, and why do I need them?

The Oops! passes are given at the beginning of the year only. They are to
be kept in a safe place. There is one oops! pass for each trimester. If
there is an assignment that you forgot to do, that pass can be used for an
additional class period to complete that assignment. You still have to
complete the assignment. If you lose your oops! passes, you will NOT be
given any more. The oops! pass must be stapled to the front of the
assignment when the assignment is turned in the next class period.
Otherwise, there is no late work accepted.

When is the current event due, and what should it look like?

The current event is due the last day I see the student at the end of each
month. For example, October's current event is due on Oct. 30th(O), 31st
(E). It must consist of a worksheet filled out completely to within the
last couple lines for the What and Why portions. They must have an article
attached to the back of the worksheet, whether printed out from a computer
or cut from a newspaper. I do not want the entire section of the newspaper
attached please. Make sure that you put your period number and date on all
papers. Please ask if you have any additional questions.
