One of our goals in kindergarten is to have the children read these 
high frequency words fluently.  FLUENCY is an important for success 
in reading.  We have done the following activities with the High 
Frequency Words:
*analyzed the words to see if the letters match the sounds in our 
mouth  
*highlighted the parts of the word that do not match the sounds in 
our mouth
*practiced reading the words as quickly as possible.
*practiced writing and spelling the words as quickly as possible

At home, you can continue to reinforce mastery of the words by:
*repeating the above activities 
*playing Bingo games with the grid 
*cutting up the words and using them as flashcards


Throughout the year your child will be memorizing these words. Put 
them on flashcards, a mirror in your house, or use them to play a 
game.
