What is the resource program?

The resource program at Saint Charles School is a program designed to help
students with learning differences and those evidencing gaps in their language
arts development reach their fullest potential.  It strives to remediate areas
including phonemic awareness and decoding skills, oral reading fluency,
reading comprehension, and writing skills.

What grades are involved in the resource program?

The resource program services students in grades kindergarten through eighth
grade.

How many times per week are students going to resource class?

Students typically attend resource class twice per week for approximately
forty-five minutes per session.

Are there resource report cards?

Students receive a resource report card each quarter emphasizing areas of
growth and those needing further remediation.

What is an SST meeting?

SST stands for Student Success Team which is a meeting called to discuss
concerns about a student. Classroom teachers, the principal and/ or
vice-principal, the resource teacher, and parents meet to create a plan of
action to help the student.
