What's New?

3/16/09

Well, we have all our students through with our first sacrament this year.
Reconciliation has been celebrated by all our students and we are in the
final stretch toward our journey toward First Eucharist. We only have 10
days of school in the month of April and lots to do.

Things to keep in mind:

May Crowning is Monday May 11 and it begins at 9am. Please plan to join us.
It is a beautiful celebration and the children are all going to be
participating. They will be wearing their First Communion clothing and then
changing into play clothes after the event. If you are a working parent, I
am letting you know now so you can reserve the day. We are planning some
different events this year after the May Crowning itself if completed and the
pictures are finished. We will be planning a picnic lunch with parents on
our field and then the children will be participating in a mini-retreat in
the afternoon. In the past it has been a play day at the park and we decided
to make it more of a reflective 2nd grade retreat. Parents are welcome to
join us for lunch and the children will remain for their retreat.

Stay tuned for all the details. We are still planning everything and will let
you know when all is finalized.

Please continue to take your children to mass each Sunday. As we get closer
to First Eucharist they may have more questions. Also, they will feel more
comfortable if they have been going each Sunday and walking up with their
arms crossed. When it is finally their turn to receive Our Lord Jesus in the
Eucharist, they will feel so comfortable to simply open their arms and
say "Amen".

Thanks for all you do at home to lovingly care for these precious children.
They are such a delight each day.

Blessings,
Mrs. Fernandez
