THANK YOU, KB PARENTS!
Yesterday, I opened all the end-of-the-year gifts and cards that you gave to
me. Thank you so much for everything. I did love the gifts, but more precious
to me are the many wonderful notes, words of encouragement, and words of love
that you bestowed on me with your cards.
There are many times that a teacher doubts herself. Your words brought me SUCH
joy!
This was a difficult class to let go. I was very misty-eyed all day on Friday
after the children left.
Please continue to write to me during the summer and let me know how your
children are doing. I look forward to seeing them in August. I made every one
promise that they will come back to visit me!!!
And to those of you who are leaving St. Francis--you and I both know who you
are--please continue to pray for me as I will be doing for you and your child.
Bring them back to visit!
In His Love,
Debbie Garrison
HIGH FREQUENCY WORD POWER POINT PRESENTATION
Mrs. Sills has put together a power point for your child on our high frequency
words. You can find this at the link
http://sites.google.com/site/thesillsgang/
THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you to the Hamra, Umholtz, and MacArthur family for contributing to our
end of the year festivities and projects.
NEW LINKS
I have created a new link for the children so that they can do a word search
of their core spelling words each week. They go to the link and print out the
word search. They may bring the completed word search into class if they
would like.
I have also created links to various high frequency word wordsearches.
SAD GOODBYE
It is with sadness that I say good-bye to this special class. It seems like
just yesterday that I was welcoming each of your children into my classroom.
We have learned together, loved together, laughed together, and been saddened
together. We have a tremendous bond that I hope will remain through all of
your child's years, whether he/she remains at St. Francis or not.
Your child will forever be in my thoughts and prayers. I pray for them and ask
God to bless them as they make the transition to first grade.
Thank you for sharing your most precious gift with me this past school year.

children from Church.
SUMMER
Have a safe, fun, and restful summer with your child.
TEACHER'S APPRECIATION WEEK
I would like to thank all my parents for such a great Teacher's Appreciation
Week. The lunches, the flowers, the gifts, the notes, and of course, my
special prayer book--all really touched my heart and were much appreciated.
You are great parents!! Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
GIFT CARDS
Although a few gift cards came in, I am asking for a Michael's Gift Card to
finish an end of the year project. If you could help in any way, it would be
appreciated.
MEMORIAL DAY
Have a wonderful, safe weekend. We will be reading a short book on Memorial
Day so that students are aware of its meaning.
LEARNING BAGS
Please remember to return the learning bags by THURSDAY each week. Also, if
you do not have a chance to complete the activity with your child, do not
return the bag. Instead, send me a note and you may keep it an additional
week. Please do not stretch this time to over 2 weeks.
HOMEWORK
Please send your child's homework to school COMPLETED following ALL directions
given.
VOLUNTEERS
Thank you to all who have volunteered their time for our class. Please
remember that if you are volunteering in any capacity with the children, you
must be fingerprinted by the diocese and take Safe Environment Training before
beginning.
Please go to the office for more details.
LUNCH
Please try to provide your child with a lunch when he/she comes to school in
the morning. We have had several parents bring lunches to their child during
the day. This challenges our routine. Also, it is wonderful to bring
take-out lunch to your child once in awhile, but we strongly discourage doing
this frequently. It is difficult for children who do not receive this treat.
RED FOLDERS
Please send your child's RED folder to school EVERY DAY. We send home work,
important notes, pre-decodable books, behavior notes, etc. daily and without
the folder, these items tend to get lost.
Also, please be sure that your child brings a foldable bag that can be put in
their cubby.
HIGH-FREQUENCY WORDS
If you are interested in giving your child more Sight Word practice, there is
a link on my website to the first 100 Dolch Sight Words. IF YOUR CHILD HAS
TROUBLE WITH THE HIGH FREQUENCY WORDS INTRODUCED EACH WEEK, IT IS NOT
ADVISABLE TO ADD MORE.
