Letter of the Week: Vv
Sharing: For
sharing this week, your child will be asked to bring in something that starts
with the letter V. Mystery sharing this
week is the purple group.
Homework: This
week you will receive a letter P sheet and a weather graph. Also, please
have your child read the story from their letter P book to you.
Sight Words of the Week: Don’t forget to practice the word wall words.
The words we will be working on this week are: said, not, we, my, has. In today’s envelope we are sending home a
worksheet where the students used sight words to write a sentence. We will be doing this more frequently, so it
is a good thing to practice at home.
100th Day of School
Activities: We moved
the 100th Day of School activities to Wednesday, February 8th. We had to move it because of the extra day we
had off after Christmas vacation. The activities
will take place from 1:30-3. Everyone has Free Dress on Wednesday for the 100th Day of School!
Valentine’s Day: Valentine’s
Day is coming up soon! Please have your
child bring in a cereal box wrapped with a paper bag and a big slot cut out on
top. They will decorate the box in
class. Please write their name on the
bottom of the box. If your child is
coming to school with valentines, every child must get one. There are 36 children in the class. Please
do not fill out the “to” part of the cards, this makes it a lot easier to
distribute them because they place the cards at every child’s seat. If
your child wants to write in the “to” section have them write “Friend.” Send your child to school with their
valentines in a brown paper bag with their name on the outside. Please send the wrapped cereal box to school
by Monday, February 13th.
Catholic Schools Week: Thank
you to everyone who made Catholic Schools Week such a treat! We loved the orchid from the class and the
beautiful teacher bracelets. Thank you
to everyone who contributed to the wonderful breakfasts and lunches in the
teachers’ room.
Pizza
Sale: The fourth grade students of Saint
Gregory School will be hosting a pizza sale on Valentine’s Day, Tuesday,
February 14th. The proceeds will help purchase new pajamas for the foster
children in our area. Please fill out the flyer in the Wednesday envelope if your
child is interested in purchasing pizza on that day. Order forms are due by this Friday,
February 10th.
