Welcome to the 2011-2012 fifth grade year. This year’s class has so much to offer and we are going
forward to work and learn together.
I have taught in various Christian schools for the past 41 years in a number of states and I have taught
third through high school in my career. This is my ninth year at St. Joseph. This will be my 42nd year
of teaching. During those years I have been able to write and develop much of the curriculum and units
used in my teaching situations.
I enjoy teaching children to discover their gifts and their abilities. Because I believe that the arts are an
important part of St. Joseph, I helped establish the drama department, which was developed six years
ago, A number of plays have been performed during that time. This coming year, I have planned a
production of "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe."
The center of education at St. Joseph is Christ, who is the basis for all we do. The church, the school
and the home work hand-in-hand to make education the best for the students.
