Class Information

  Discipline Plan
In addition to the school discipline policy, I have added our own classroom rules.....

1. Listen carefully.
2. Follow Directions.
3. Work Quietly. Do not disturb others who are working.
4. Respect others. Be kind with your words and actions.
5. Respect school and personal property.
6.Work and play safely.

Consequences
If these rules are broken, the following steps will be initiated.

1. Verbal warning
2. Lose a class dollar
3. Time in at recess
4. Note home to parents. Depending on severity, a meeting with Mrs. Marseille may be warranted. If
behavior persists, a parent/teacher conference will be scheduled.
** Severe behaviors will be sent to office right away.

Class Cash
Each student will receive 10 “bills” to start with at the beginning of each month. These “bills” will,
hopefully, teach the children a little more about responsibility. They will each be responsible for
budgeting their cash and keeping it in a safe place. Each “bill” is worth a trip to the bathroom. Bills
can also be taken away for not following classroom rules. If the students save their class cash, their
bills will go into a raffle bag from which I will choose five bills as winners of a special prize at the
end of each month.

Class Marbles
As a class, students can earn marbles for good reports from special teachers, good behavior
throughout the day, as well as all students turning in daily homework assignments. For every third
of the jar filled, rewards will be given to the class. Rewards will be based by level.

Star of the Week
Each week there will be a “Star of the Week”. The Friday before, I will send a poster home
informing you that your child is the “Star”. Please fill out the poster and bring it to school on
Monday. It will be displayed all week. Each student will have a chance to bring family pictures from
home, share a favorite story, pick a prayer or Bible story to read (books provided in class), and bring
a show-and-tell item on Friday. Please support your child by looking for pictures of family, friends,
pets and any hobby in which the student participates. This will give the class an opportunity to get
to know each student a little better.

 Field Trips
So far, these are the field trips that are in the works:
- Charlottes Web play (Nov. 8)
-Chabot Space & Science Center (March)
-Sacramento Railroad Museum (April)
- Oakland A’s game ( May)
-End of Year Picnic-June

If you are interested in chaperoning a field trip this year, please check with the office to see if you
have a current TB test results on file and that your auto insurance is up-to-date. Live Scan is now
required for any volunteering/chaperoning.

Our field trip chaperoning policy will be based on a policy of fairness. I will do my best to make
sure every parent who wants to drive/chaperone will be given at least one opportunity to attend a
field trip during the year. When a field trip is announced, please remit the permission slip with your
intention to drive or chaperone. After all the permission slips are collected, I will review them and
send a confirmation note to parents who are needed. Priority will be given to parents who have not
had a turn to participate in a field trip and those parents willing to both drive and chaperone. I will
call any excess parents and encourage them to volunteer for the next classroom event.

Our school policy prevents parents from attending field trips if they have not reserved an
allotted spot with the teacher. Parents should not drive alongside nor attend unless they are
confirmed to chaperone or drive. We thank you for your understanding and support as we try to fairly
accommodate all families and keep the children safe.
