General Overview

Señorita Brown – Middle School Spanish Teacher

Familias de St. Joseph,

¡Bienvenidos!  Welcome to the St. Joseph Middle School Spanish Web page. My name is Jennifer Brown, the Middle School Spanish Teacher. I’d like to introduce myself and give you an overview of the program.

I  joined the St. Joseph Staff in February, 2003 after relocating back to the Bay Area after several years abroad.

I spent many years living in Barcelona, Spain as a language teacher, working with both children and adults. This is where I learned Spanish and gained a deep appreciation for Hispanic culture. As a result, I like to incorporate different topics such as music, geography, and cultural traditions into the curriculum. I feel very fortunate to have found a place at St. Joseph working in a subject in which I truly enjoy.

As a Spanish teacher, I feel it is essential to create interest and curiosity in the classroom. Therefore, I want students not only to enjoy the experience, but to understand what it means to have the opportunity to acquire a second language and how it may benefit them in the future.
