How much homework will I have in 6th Grade? You will have approximately 1 1/2 hours each night, Monday through Thursday. I try not to assign homework on weekends and holidays. What if I forget to do an assignment and turn it in? You will have an opportunity to do the assignment at recess and/or lunch. If you have mulitiple missing assignments, you will be required to attend an after school study hall. For most assignments, I do accept late work. You will get a reduced grade, however. What if I do really bad on a paper? You can redo most assignments for a grade adjustment. Yes! Do you require your students to read a lot of books? Yes, you will need to read for 15 to 30 minutes each night and keep a reading log. You should always have a book in your desk for SSR and to read when you finish an assignment early. You will also be required to do a book report every month. You can earn Class Cash by turning in assignments on time and properly headed. You can also earn CC by doing classroom jobs. Some examples of how you can spend CC are - when you need to go to the bathroom or get a drink during class, to buy extra copies of dittos when you misplace them, to buy an emergency pen, pencil, or binder paper, or to go into the cloak room to get something you forgot in your backpack. |
