Please remember that the end of the quarter is just a couple of weeks away. All late work and extra credit must be turned in by Friday, January 22^nd, no exceptions. If any students fall behind between now and the 15^th, we will have a “mandatory” after school study hall – detention.

Science – For the next 8 weeks, we will be learning about Ecology and how to take care of God’s Creation.

• The Biome Project is part of this unit and is due Monday, January 25^th.
• Students will also be required to do various online assignments over the next 8 weeks. If your child does not have daily access to a computer and the internet, please let me know.

Reading – Our unit theme is Ecology which ties in nicely with our science unit.

• Reading Logs – Remember, reading logs must be signed by a parent and minutes need to be added up and written on the log. Students are to read 15 to 30 minutes per night, depending on homework load, for a minimum of 500 minutes per month. Reading is part of each student’s reading grade. Reading logs for January will be in the folder January 4th. Logs for December are due on January 4th.

• Book Reviews for January are due the 25th. Details went home before break.

English Red Group – During January, students will write a Persuasive Essay about an Environmental issue of their choice. They will be given a sheet showing all requirements and due dates. The requirements will also be posted on this website.
