Dear Parents,
What a wonderful Catholic Schools Week we had! The weather was perfect for our basketball and
volleyball games outside, and everyone had a great time. What fun to add a pie eating contest for the
teachers. The feedback has been incredible! Everyone had a great time, and the highlight really was the
Mass at Bishop Diego High School.
Thank you for coming to the Open House last Friday. The students really enjoyed singing “I Can See
Clearly Now” and showing you their missions.
Friday all students in grades 4-6 will attend our field trip to the Santa Barbara Symphony. We are so
proud of our school winner in the fourth grade, Ysabella Dodson, who won the essay contest will sit on
stage with the performers. If you have not returned the permission slip, please do so by tomorrow.
Please note, students will wear their uniforms for this special field trip.
Valentine’s Day is quickly approaching. Mrs. Rodriquez will post a sign up sheet on the 4th grade door
for our party next Tuesday afternoon. Please sign up if you are able. Students received a class list
today and may begin making their valentine’s. I suggested 5 each night to make it manageable. They
may bring in their valentine’s on Friday or Monday.
February is black history month. We will have a small project in the classroom to celebrate famous
black Americans. Students will need to research and bring in their typed notes by next Tuesday. More
information and written directions will be sent home tomorrow.
Thank you for all you do to help your child be successful. I am available to talk with you about your
child after school if you would like. Please send an e-mail or note with your child to make an
appointment.
God Bless,
Diane McClenathen
