January 30, 2012
Dear Seventh Grade Parents and Guardians,
It is hard to believe that we have reached the end of January. It has been a
very busy month. We are just wrapping up our novel study of The Giver and
beginning a study of Ancient Africa. We are working on a beautiful class
painting for the auction as well. Today, your child turned in their Persuasion
Project, which they will be orally presenting at some point during the next week.
Friday, January 20th was the school Geography Bee. Teo Gonzalez and Ella
Windmiller represented the seventh grade class and they did very well! Good
work Teo and Ella! Teo won the entire Geography Bee and he will continue onto
the state competition if he qualifies.
Progress reports will be mailed home this week. Your child will receive a
progress report either if they currently have a “C-“ or below or if they are
doing exceptionally well in any class.
Catholic Schools week is this week! We have lots of fun activities planned,
including a Mass at Bishop Diego High School, basketball and volleyball games
against the teachers, a school family activity and our Open House on Friday,
February 3th from 1:30-3:30. Each class will be performing a song and
afterward every classroom will be open with different projects on display. I
look forward to seeing you there.
Have a wonderful week,
Sincerely,
Lisette Williford
