Thank you to everyone who has donated boxes for our Open House Project. Thank you to everyone who donated toilet paper rolls. We are still in need of some. Thank you to our wonderful volunteers: Sarah, Andrea, Jessica, and Melanie.
Next week our Star Student will be Puneet. We are so excited to learn more about her!
Our Character Trait for May is a student of Character . We’ll celebrate students who are caring, giving, serving, just, fair, demonstrate leadership, initiative, teamwork, respectful, responsible, and trustworthy. Our Character of the week this week is Autumn! She has been a Spartan of character!
Announcements:
Jog-a-thon: Students and teacher will run in our school’s Jog-a-thon on May 3rd. Pledge sheets are due by Wed., May 1st. Money for pledges will be collected after the event. Parent volunteers are needed to help with this fun event. Please let me know if you are able to help our class as we run from 10:30-11:00, or if you can help for the morning from 8-11. THANKS!
Field Trip: Thank you to our wonderful chaperones: Sarah, Kim, Laura, Melissa, Kari, Davin, Melanie, Sumita, and Andrea.
Box Tops and Campbell Soup Labels for Education: Our last competition for the year ends on April 30th. We could win an ice cream party!
Minimum Day: M ay 10this a Minimum Day. Students are dismissed at 12:30.
Open House: You’re invited to our school’s Open House on May 9thfrom 4:00-5:00pm. There will be an Art Show and Art Auction in the Multi-Purpose Room open before and after Open House.
Field Day: Second Grade will have our field day from 8:30-11:00 on May 29th. Our class is requesting parent volunteers to run a station. If you would like to run a station, please let me know! It is always super fun, and the kids LOVE playing with parents!
What did you do in school today?
In Language Arts next week we will continue to learning about Our Country and Its People. The next selection, “New Hope,” describes the life of the early European settlers in our country. We will look at cause and effect, prefixes, and dialogue.
In Math, we will get ready for 3rdgrade.
In Science, we will learn about forces and motion.
In Social Studies, students will write a biography of a famous American.
