I am now entering my eleventh year of teaching for the Conejo Valley Unified
School District. I began my career in 1998 at Cypress Elementary where I
taught third grade for three years. It is there that Sycamore began it's
first roots and I thought that working for a school just establishing their
roots would be a once in a life time experience. Wow! It sure has been and
one I've never regretted. I taught third grade for two more years and then
decided to make a change. Teaching in the middle school has been nothing but
rewarding and I haven't looked back since.
I have a wonderful husband Scott and five incredible kids. My daughter
Ashley is entering her Senior year at Newbury Park High School and my son
Jordan is in 8th grade here at Sycamore. I also have three step daughters,
Krysta who is a freshman at Moorpark College and Jenna who is now a freshman
at Newbury Park High School. My oldest step daughter, Katie, just got married
this past June in Hawaii. We enjoyed a fabulous trip to Ohau where we stayed
along the famous Sunset and Pipeline Beaches. My dream would be to have a
summer home there. I think it's as close to paradise as it comes!
It is with strong intent that every student become a life long learner in my
class and advocate for their own education!
