This Week's Class Work

This week's IN CLASS work is listed below.  The students have all week to work on these assignments during independent work time and/or whenever they have "extra time" (for example, they've completed an art project or finished their math test).  If these tasks are unfinished, these will be the assignments listed in the CLASS WORK section of your child's WEEKLY REPORT.
  1. Practice Book*, pages:  290 291 292 295-301
  2. Flip Charts:  N/A
  3. Treasures story:  Read "Wilbur's Boast"
  4. Cursive Practice:  We'll begin capital letters this week.
  5. Charlotte's Web:  read the assigned chapter; do response journal.
  6. Science/Social Studies/Health:  Work on any unfinished work from the mixing classes.
  7. Preposition Poem.  We continue to memorize our prepositions.  The kids know they'll get bonus tickets if they get them all down.
  8. Unfinished Work:  If your child has not completed an art project, writing assignment or anything else we've done in class, he/she must finish this as well.
Keep in mind, if something is not finished by Friday of a particular week, the student has a choice:  finish it at recess or finish it over the weekend.  This is a way of showing fairness to all students in class:  every student is expected to do the work, therefore it wouldn't be fair if I allow student "X" not to complete the work, simply because he/she did not use their time wisely.**

**Please note:  I will never have an expectation that students should finish class work they've not had enough time to reasonably complete within a given week.  For example, if we have a field trip/unexpected earthquake/fire drill/assembly/school play/etc. and time runs short, I will adjust my expectations accordingly.
