For tomorrow's test, you will need to know the "likes and dislilkes" vocabulary, the "chapter 4 vocabulary" and the grammar that was on today's quiz ("gustar", conjugations of regular verbs). There will be a listening part where I will ask you questions such as "¿Te gusta leer?", "¿Te cae bien Christina Aguilera?", etc. There will be the vocabulary and the grammar sections, and there will be a writing section where you will need to use the vocabulary and the grammar in the rest of the test.

HW: Interview somebody who speaks Spanish or is taking Spanish, and ask him/her whether he or she likes to do the activities on TB 30 and 31 (nadar, patinar, etc). Then, write ten sentences saying whether he or she likes to do each of the activities that you asked about. You can either take notes on their answers or write their sentences as they speak. You can ask, for instance: "¿Te gusta estudiar?" If the person says, "Sí, me gusta estudiar.", then you would write "A Luis le gusta estudiar.". If the person says "No, no me gusta estudiar.", then you would write "A Luis no le gusta estudiar.". Notice that "Luis" is in italics; that's because you would write the name of the person that you interviewed there.

HW: Choose 20 words in Spanish (from the textbook, a dictionary, or anywhere else) and break them up into syllables. You need to include at least five words that have at least one "r" and at least five words that have four or more syllables. Remember that if an "r" is after a consonant other than l, m, n or s, the "r" is attached to that consonant and form a syllable. The "l" has the same rule (if the "l" comes after a consonant other than m, n, r or s, then they both form part of the same syllable).

HW: Complete all steps from the alphabet list on Byki and have your parents sign the Byki Signature List for the alphabet Byki list. If you do not have Byki or can't get it, write the alphabet once, and the Spanish way to pronounce it as many times as you need until you learn it (it might be from 5-10 times or even more - write it as many times as needed) and turn that list in tomorrow instead of the Byki signature list. You will also need to add to your list "How do you spell...?= ¿Cómo se escribe...?" and "It's spelled...= Se escribe..." Note: This is only for students who can't or aren't allowed to download Byki. All other students need to complete the list in Byki and have a parent or guardian sign it.
