3. Solve problems one step at a time and work down the pageexample: what is Y - X + Z when X = 3 Y = 5 and Z = 6Y - X + Z5 - 3 + 6

4. Always check back of the book for odds (as you go) and correct the problem by finding your mistake before beginning next problem.
5. Use Ms. D’s # 5 (estimate using compatible numbers - "easy on your head and close to the number") to check if your answer is reasonable.

 

      Grading and Correcting

 

               Odds are graded and corrected BEFORE coming to class with pen.

               Evens are graded and corrected in class.

               Find your mistake by looking at original problem and correct.

               Ask a question, if you cannot find what you did wrong.

 

               If you do not have your HW, you MUST  write the even answers down (in pen)

               so that you can correct HW later!  One day late HW is accepted for half credit,                                       

               so be responsible and be on time!

When you are absent, you are still responsible to get the HW completed and graded, as stated on the website. Answers to the even problems will be posted in class for you to grade, score and correct your own HW.

Spiral notebooks with the graded and corrected HW will be graded by the teacher while you are taking the test, so be sure to have all the work completed by test day for the maiximum score.
