As the year goes on, you will hear a lot about my family and my life, but
for those of you who are interested, here's a little preview about me. I
was born in Paris, France in November of 1966. My dad was in the United
States Navy, so we moved around a lot.
I grew up in Coronado, for the most part. I went to high school at the
Academy of Our Lady of Peace (OLP)here in San Diego. My mom still lives in
the house I grew up in and has the family together as aften as she can.
Now that all of us are back in Southern California, it's a lot easier. On
May 10, 2005, my dad died of a heart attack. I still miss him every day. He
and my mom were married for nearly 45 years when he died.
I grew up in a crazy, Catholic, nutball family. I am the second oldest of
four children. I have an older sister, Beth, who lives in Coronado. My
brother Paul lives here in San Diego. My youngest brother, Joe, lives in San
Juan Capistrano in Orange County. All of my siblings are the proud parents
of young sons. Beth has one son, Michael (starting 4th grade). Paul's son
Elliott is going into first grade this year. Joe has three sons, William
(going into 7th grade), Nicholas (starting 5th grade) and Alexander (starting
2nd grade). I have LOTS of pictures of my nephews and I'm always happy to
show them off.
I am starting my 22nd year as a teacher in San Diego City Schools, which
proves that I started when I was 6 years old :)
Over the years, I have taught just about every Social Studies class that the
district has offered. I started my career at Point Loma High, and I have
been teaching at UCHS for ten years now. Of all the courses I
have taught during my teaching career, there is nothing I have enjoyed more
than teaching seniors AP Government.
I keep my expectations high, and expect you to meet them. Please don't
hesitate to set up an appointment with me if you think you need help or are
getting behind.
Let's have a great year!
