Hello Everyone,
Thank you for taking the time to look over our classroom website. My
goal for you is that you will find this to be a valuable resource as we learn
throughout the year. Within this site you will find resources for reading,
vocabulary/word study, writing, math, social studies, history, government and
the California and State Reports. Take some time and look over some of the web sites.
It will give you a good idea of what some of the materials are for fourth
grade. You will also be using this site for classroom updates, your (routine
only)homework schedule and classroom calendar. I know that this seems like a
lot, but we get through it together!
Goals for classroom:
• To increase student motivation through the learning process by questioning
learners often through whole class, group or teacher to individual student
discussions. When students have more active roles to play, they learn and
retain more.
• To help learners make connections by prompting them with cues to get
answers.
• To model often to learners through first assessing current understanding,
and then giving them hands-on guidance immediately thereafter, ensuring that
a new experience is more clearly cemented in their minds.
• To demonstrate and teach the use of the latest technology software to
students in coordination with associated class work such as PowerPoint,
Excel, Internet access and web page development.
• To increase student motivation through clear and precise goals, and to
determine best strategies to achieve specific goals.
• To individually assess my students’ styles of comprehension so that I may
reach each of them according to their specific learning style.
• To self-assess often in order that I appropriately evaluate student
learning and comprehension.
