Homework

These projects have been suspended until further notice!

In addition to reading every night, I hope that your student is working hard on their spelling projects. Remember the spelling projects are due by Friday of each week before the spelling test.  Your child may choose from:

1.   A Letter to a Friend – Write a letter to a friend using all of your spelling words.  The letter must be cohesive, flow, use the words correctly and make sense to the recipient (Mrs. Cathey). The letter will need to have an opening line, body and closing.

2.   A Spelling Game – Develop a game that can be used by your classmates to study past spelling words.  It can be a board game, card game or any other type of game that you can think of. The game must come with clear written instructions, the pieces to play and any other cards or accessories necessary to play your game.

3.   Crossword Puzzle – Develop a crossword puzzle that uses all of your spelling words. You will need to develop clues in order to effectively make your puzzle.  Edhelper.com has a great online template that you can use.

4.   Story Time – Write a story using all of your spelling words.  The story must be cohesive, have a beginning, middle, end and make sense.  The story can be fiction or non-fiction.

5.   Comic Strip- You may create a comic script that uses your spelling words. Make sure that the comic makes sense and that the words are used correctly. You can use more than one comic to make sure that you use all of the words on your list. (an example template is on the back of this letter)
