Suitcase Project Due:

Social Studies

You are to explore your family heritage and find out about your roots by interviewing your family members (parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, etc.). Ask about places your family has lived, and about their customs and traditions.  Gather as much history from the past as you can. 

You will make a 5-10 minute oral presentation and show 2-5 objects/pictures that represent your family history.

Genre: Traditional Literature - Fables, Legends, Fairy Tales, Tall Tales

1. Make a puppet of the main character(s). You can make the puppets out of tongue depressors, socks, or whatever you can think of. You can even dress up a doll or stuffed animal to be your main character. Use your imagination!

2. Then be prepared to tell the story from the main character’s point of view.

Biography Project Due: Monday, April 30th


Genre: Biography

Students are to read a biography about a person who has made some contribution to the world.  When they finish reading the book, they will:

  1. Do further research on the person's life (encyclopedias, the internet, etc)   Be sure to note sources in your bibliography.
  2. Take notes and write or type a report
  3. Create a timeline by hand or go to       Timeline Maker
  4. Create a Biography Doll

Asian Country Report

1. Research an Asian Country using at least two different sources (internet, books, encyclopedia).

2.  Complete the Country Report Outline.

3.  Write a 5 paragraph report using the the outline as a guide.

4.  Complete the Country Report Poster (will be handed out in class)
