I usually read between 5 and 10 children's books a week, and will put
reviews of the ones I think are best here. I would also like to feature
book reviews written by students. If your child has enjoyed a book, s/he
may want to write a short review of it as a Microsoft Document, and email
it to me as an attachment. (K - 2 students may also submit their reviews
handwritten on binder paper.) You will receive a permission slip to sign
prior to your child's work being posted. I'll try to feature as many
student reviews here as I can - it looks as if I can post 20 reviews at a
time on this page.

Frog and Toad Together (Arnold Lobel) by L.B., Grade 1
Dear Frog, I like your books. My favorite book was The Garden.
(Although it's no wonder because I read all the time.) I like
the garden because your friend Toad keeps shouting or playing
music or reading stories or other things to his seeds and then he
thought that it was hard work but [it was] the other way.
Your buddy, L.B.
N.E.R.D.S.: National Espionage, Rescue, and Defense Society (Michael Buckley) by S.J., Grade 5
N.E.R.D.S. is a hilarious book filled with action-packed goofs.
The NERD team consists of nerds that have oversized "nerdy"
problems like Wheezer (one of the spies) uses her inhaler to fly
and blast and melt things with fire, and Gluestick (a paste
eater) can stick to walls and stuff! The other four nerds have
just as goofy powers and problems. Watch Jackson drop form
Jockey to NERD spy! Enjoy!
