How long do we have to correct exams below a 70%.

Test corrections are due one week from the date the test is
returned. Both the score and the test correction due date will be
marked in ink on the front of the exam. Any tests not turned in
with corrections or turned in after the due date will keep the
original score. Students may earn 10% added to their original score if all corrections are made and the test is returned on time.

Are activities provided for the GATE students?

Yes, we do provided differentiated assignments for the GATE students on
a regular basis. The beginning of the year is our time to learn
about each student's strengths. In October we will start
offereing GATE students different challenges with the reading
contracts, science extention activities, and math games and
concepts. All work will be offered in class, but will not be a
requirement. Please encourage your child to choose the challenge
activitiy as often as they are comfortable.

How do families help their students prepare for exams?

All science, math, and social studies exams will have a study
guide. The study guides will be assigned approximately one week
before an exam. We encourage the students to prepare a little
each day, rather than completing the entire study guide the night
before. All guides will be reviewed in class before the test
date. Reading tests can be prepared for by reviewing vocabulary
words and discussing the questions at the end of each story.
