Homework

This month students need to choose a book they read during the last school year. They do not need to re-read the entire book but should review it and read any sections that were the important to the plot. When they finish reviewing it, students need to write a 1 minute speech explaining why they think the book should be considered as "The Book of the Year".
(See 'Documents' file for a complete description and the necessary forms.)

Third grade students do not need to do this book report since they will be completing a famous person report.

Every week in the Learning Center, students are expected to:
  • read a "Just Right Book" daily, complete the Learning Center Reading Log, have it signed by an adult, and return it to class on Friday,
    • 60 minutes per week for 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students
    • 40 minutes per week for 1st and 2nd grade students
  • complete additional reading or writing assignments written in the planner, and
  • complete daily Home Links or Study Links for math.

Please see the Documents file for book reports and other long-term assignments.
