What is the "Challenge Spelling" list?
Your child will receive the Challenge List if he or she misses no more than one word on the spelling pretest of the week. Your child will automatically receive an A in the gradebook for that week, regardless of their score on the Challenge List. Please encourage them to learn the words, though!Back to Top

How can I help my child learn the multiplication facts?
In class, we sing songs, complete worksheets, play games, watch videos, and call out facts. While all of these are helpful, the best way is the old fashioned way - pull out the flash cards and practice at least 10 minutes each night. To make it more fun, play games with the flash cards. If your child can answer the fact question in under 2 seconds, they keep the card. If not, you keep the card. See how many rounds it takes for your child to get all the cards. Play every night until they can get all the facts in 2 seconds and collect all the card in one round!Back to Top

My child passed the 5s. Should he/she be working ONLY on the 6s now?
NO! Even though your child "mastered" the 5s, he or she needs to continue to practice them so that they become a part of their long term memory. If you drop practicing the facts after the test, your child WILL forget them!Back to Top
