Your child should be prepared to present a short summary of his/her current event on the day assigned. The written summary and the actual article will be posted in class for the week. This is part of your student's Social Studies and Listening/Speaking grade. For your reference, the Current Events assignments roster can be found under the "Documents" tab of this website. There are also some links under the "Links" tab of this website which may be helpful in finding a "kid-friendly" article.
2. This week's story is "How to Hide an Octopus." Please help your child review the following story vocabulary while reading the story at home on Wednesday: fade, design, drab, enemies, and creatures.
3. Famous Person Poster Assignment (Due: Wed., Feb. ): Please support your child in completing this project neatly and completely. Please also use the construction paper provided for the poster. If your child needs another piece, I can provide one. Keep in mind that the work should be your child's, but parent support is helpful in assisting your child in selecting appropriate information for completing each section and in creating complete sentences. The documents for this report are also available in the "Documents" section of this website.
