Dear 5th Grade Parents and Students,
The next book Report for Grade 5 Rm. 19 is a Science Fiction book
report. For this book report students can choose any Science
Fiction/Fantasy book. Popular Science Fiction books include the Harry
Potter Series, The Bridge to Terabithia, The Lion, the Witch and the
Wardrobe, The Pendragon series, and the Star Wars series. There is a
link to a Science Fiction book list on our class website. These books
are due in class by Wednesday, April 4th. If you have any questions,
please call me at 731-8400 ext. 119 or email me at
cwatters@stceciliaschool.org.
For your science fiction/fantasy book report you will be making a
game board for a board game. Your game board should take us through
the different scenes of the book with all of the twists and turns that
the characters themselves experienced. The game board should be
completed on 11x18-sized paper. Your game board should have colored
illustrations or decorations that go along with the book. Use board
games that you have at home to help you combine your own creative
spirit with the creativeness from the book. You do not need to create
the whole game. You do not need game pieces, cards or directions for
how to play. All you need to do is design the game board. Be sure to
keep your work neat and organized. You can add notes on the board to
help the viewer follow the story. Along with the game board you will
give an oral summary of the book to the class. Your summary should
describe the characters, setting and plot of the story. These book
reports will be due on Friday, May 4th.
