With the cost of college rising evey year, paying for college can be a major
hurdle. BMHS has many resources to help you with financial aid. Come in our
office to pick up FREE books.We will also be posting an updated listing of
scholarships on this website for your information.
The financial aid office of the the college you are interested in will also
provide you with information.
There are many good sites online for financial aid information. Finaid.org
is a good site to get an estimate of your need for financial aid.

Many students rely on federal programs for funding and that aid is based on
need as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
You will need to apply each year in January after you receive your end of
the year tax information. Do this applicaiton online for fast processing.

Local scholarships for 2009 are available on the BMHS website. Let your
counselor help you if you have questions with this application. You can
type into the application or download and complete in ink. Completed
applications will be due March 9th due to your counselor. NO EXCEPTIONS! All
scholarship require some level of financial need. Counselors will add your
transcript and test scores after you complete the applications.Interviews
will be conducted in April. The Free Application for Federal Student Aid

The FAFSA form is used to apply for federal student financial aid, including
grants, loans, and work-study. The FAFSA is based on tax information for the
proceeding year. Seniors 2009 may file AFTER January 1, 2009. Students who
apply online will get results 7 - 14 days faster than if they mail a paper
FAFSA. An information on filing the FAFSA and financial aid in general will
be offered at BMHS February 2nd at 7PM in the Media Center.

Some colleges (selective colleges in the East) require the CSS/PROFILE
form to apply for financial aid. Check on the web page of your college to
see what is required by your colleges.

Students residing in Colorado and attending Colorado colleges need to
register for the College Opportuntiy Fund which pays up to $80 per credit
hour for each student from state funds. There is also a great college
estimator on college in colorado website.

Students interested in attending public colleges or universities in the
Western region of the country need to access the Western Undergraduate
Exchange program to see if they are eligible for tution discounts.
