FRESHMAN YEAR!
1. It is never too early to plan for the future! 
2. Build strong academic, language, mathematics and critical thinking skills 
by taking challenging courses. 
3. Study hard and get excellent grades. 
4. Strengthen your vocabulary by increasing your reading. 
5. Become involved in co-curricular activities. 
6. Meet your high school guidance counselor and discuss your plans for the 
next four years. 
7. Browse through college literature or surf the Web to get an idea of what 
kinds of schools may be of interest to you. 
8.  Check out what high school courses colleges require. 
9.  Know NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association) requirements if you 
want to play sports in college. 
10. Keep an academic portfolio and co-curricular record. 
11. Research career possibilities. 
12. Begin saving money for college.
