Excused from this task - The student does not have to do this assignment for any number of reasons. Maybe it was an in class assignment that was done while they were absent, maybe they were given an alternative assignment. If you would like to know why this was excused, please contact me. This comment does not affect the grade.
Late submission - The student turned this assignment in late. Their grade is calculated as half of what they earned. (Example - if they got 10 out of 10, the grade will be calculated as a 5. If they got a 5 out of 10, the grade will be calculated as a 2.5)
