My name is Tanya Kunkel, Fort Collins is my hometown. I recently finished my
teaching certificate and Masters in Music Education at CSU. My favorite
things in music are playing the viola and teaching. In addition to music, I
love to be outside running, hiking, playing tennis and enjoying sunshine. I
am excited to be at East Elementary and look forward to a musical and joy-
filled year.
The mission for music class at East is to bring enjoyable music experiences
to all students while learning the elements of music, including: rhythm,
melody, harmony, form, and expressive elements. These are taught with folk
songs, folk games and rhymes. Students are singing, playing instruments,
moving to music and participating in various games and activities to
reinforce learning.
