Who is responsible for checking student assignments and grades in infinite campus?
The parent or student should be checking the assignments or grades on a
regular basis. The ultimate goal is -- the student monitors their own assignments.
When will assignments and tests be available for viewing through infinite campus?
All scores will be entered into the system within 24 hours of being received.
If assignments or tests are given on a Friday, please allow 24-48 hours to be entered.
Please note: Sometimes infinite campus is inaccessible due to district updates
or unforeseen circumstances.
Can I send in birthday treats?
Yes. Birthdays may be shared by sending in a treat without any peanut products in them. Please
provide napkins/plates when needed. I would prefer the treats to be handed out during our study
hall time, but am open to other class times. Study hall is a quiet, study time from 2:30 - 3:07
when students can enjoy their classmate's celebration. Please let me know a day ahead of time, if
possible, so I may provide for students who have dietary restrictions. There are 24 students in
each of my classes.
Do I need to buy hiking boots for science camp?
No. Your child can wear old tennis shoes as long as they have good support. If you
have, or want to buy, hiking boots, please be sure to 'break' them in before
going to camp. We do a lot of walking.
Science camp wool socks?
In the list of clothing for science camp, it lists wool socks or synthetic socks. If you have a pair of
good hiking socks, they should be fine, but you are welcome to send wool or synthetic ones.
Please wash them before you wear them. Also, break them in ahead of time with the shoes you
will be bringing to camp to see if your shoes still fit the same. Some wool and synthetic socks can
take up more room than other socks so that your shoes may fit tighter. There is a lot of walking
and playing each day, but wool socks are not a required item for our time of year and activity
levels.
Can my child look at your website through infinite campus?
Yes. When they log into infinite campus, they will see the link to my website. If they need help, please
have them ask me.
What is your late work policy?
All assignments have a due date. If the work is not received on the date it is due, it is considered
late (unless there is an excused absence). Assignments received one day late will get 80%
credit of the actual grade earned, two days late receive 50% credit of the actual grade earned, and
more than two days late will receive a zero. I request all assignments to be turned into me
regardless of the credit given so I may review it for student understanding.
What is your make-up policy?
If your child has an excused absence, they will have two days (for every day missed) to get their
assignments turned in for full credit. For example, if your child is gone from school on Tuesday, their
assignments for that day are due to me by Friday morning (before first period). If they can get it in
sooner, that is fine too. After two days of the excused absence, the work will be considered late and
will be graded accordingly. ** See late work policy question above.
