1st Grade Model Magic Color Mixing

The kids squished and smooshed model magic to make a secondary color.

Kandisky Circles

The kids used oil pastels and designed their own circle art. I put them together as a class project. They loved seeing everyone's art!

Warm and Cool Color Landscapes

This project was done with soft pastels. The kids loved blending the colors with their fingers.

People Pumpkin Patch

I taught the kids how to draw different expressions/emotions for faces on their pumpkins. This was also a lesson in texture as the kids made paint paper and added splatter paint.

3rd Grade Coil Pots

Model Magic coil pots.

4th Grade Mud Cloths

After studying African art, students recreated Senufo mud cloths using the same line designs and stylized animals. We dyed the paper with coffee and tea.

3rd Grade Matisse Paper Cut Outs

Students learned about the artist Henri Matisse and his many different styles of art. They also learned about complementary colors and used this as an element in their creations. Some kids chose to go very abstract while others had a theme.

5th Grade Glass Fusing

Through the Alliance Project Grant, Mrs. Becker's class had a glass fusing artist come in and teach us something new.
