I started getting in some wonderfully creative "Family Turkey Projects." Come check them out (in the hallway outside my classroom). If you've misplaced your turkey, go to my "Important Documents" link and download it from there.

Find out what the kindergarten students think Native Americans are (before I taught them about it, I asked them what they knew). Look at the link "What We Learned This Week"

I've changed the format of the calendar on this site. It is now in a grid. To see details like times, etc., click on the event and look at the top of the page.
You can also change it to see a list (like the old calendar) by clicking on the list tab.

Veteran’s Day Celebration

PRA students and families will once again have the opportunity to recognize and honor veterans during the upcoming Veteran’s Day.  This year’s celebration will take place on Wednesday, November 11.  We will have two assemblies where we will honor veterans.  The first assembly begins at 8:30am for grades 5-8 and the second assembly begins at 10:15am for grades K-4.  You are welcome to attend either or both ceremonies.  Each ceremony will include a posting of the colors, a music performance by the students, a moment of silence for veterans who have gone before us and a special recognition for the veterans in attendance.

We will recognize veterans this year on our Veterans Wall of Honor.  We keep all recognition forms from previous years and will display them this year.  If you have another veteran you would like to honor please return the form that will be in your child’s Thursday folder.  Forms will also be available at the front desk.

The Veteran’s Day celebration at PRA is truly a remarkable event.  I highly encourage you to fill out the paperwork to honor a veteran and to come to one of the assemblies and see first-hand just how special this event is.

Please RSVP to Rochelle Monahan at 303-221-1070 if you can attend.  RSVP is not required, but is appreciated.  We look forward to seeing you on Wednesday, November 11.

Your child's report card is coming home in his/her Thursday folder today. If your child's Thursday folder is not at school, please look for the report card in his/her homework folder.
Tomorrow is library, don't forget to return your books.
Our field trip to the Children's museum is this Friday, Nov. 6th. All kindies (PM included) need to be here at 8:15 a.m. We will get back to the school at approx. 1:30 p.m. and that is when you need to pick your child up from the school. Please send a sack lunch (everything should be disposable including the sack and drink) for your child. I will send more details later this week.

Subj:  Snow Days and Fall Party

Who would have believed three snow days in October!!!  I hope that you all have enjoyed this once-in-a -school-career experience. PRA students and teachers will have some work and learning  to catch up on when we return on Monday.

It is a disappointment that Friday’s snow day has also cancelled the School Costume Parade and the Classroom Fall Parties. It is an annual event where I enjoy seeing the younger students and the toddler/pre-school kids in costume in the parade. Unfortunately, this will now have to wait until next year. However, please do enjoy the various parties or gatherings that you already had scheduled for tomorrow.  We all can look forward to the next scheduled classroom parties on Friday, December 18 prior to Winter Break.

Thanks to the many room moms who had everything ready to go for today.  I am sorry about this cancellation.

On another note: The PRA website has had its problems since yesterday. It is not weather related. It is an issue with our host server off-site. We are hoping it will be corrected today.  In the meantime, you can’t access the various teacher sites and any emails sent to school personnel will bounce back to you.

If you have any questions, or feel like there is something missing from my site that may be helpful, please let me know.
