August/September 09

A Constitutional Convention Simulation will be held during Social Studies
time on Mon. September 14 (Young) and Tues. September 15 (Gambill). This
is a class activity and because of limited space cannot be a spectator
event. Students may bring costume items to be worn over their uniforms as we
reenact the Constitutional Convention. This is NOT required but makes the
experience fun. Each student will be assigned a delegate to portray and that
assignment will be coming home stapled to their planner a week before the
simulation. Please review it with your student and they may dress as their
delegate. Students will be asked only to tell their delegate name and one
fact about them at the simulation, but will have a copy of their description
in front of them to refer to. Costume ideas: glasses, wigs, white shirts,
suit coats, vests, ties, scarfs. Students will have seen a picture of their
delegate in class. PLEASE do not go out and buy costumes for this event.
Over half the students will not bring any costume items and will still fully
enjoy the simulation.
