You may have heard your child speak about “Mallet Madness”
(xylophones and non-pitched instruments) in music. I am very excited
to tell you grades k-5 have been participating in this style of
teaching that provides children more opportunities to play on the
instruments and a unique opportunity to incorporate and reinforce any
musical concept that is being taught. In “Mallet Madness” the
rotation system of the students allow your child to play all of the
mallet percussion instruments in the classroom as well as many of the
non-pitched percussion instruments. The system is effective and fun
for the students. It is a pleasure teaching our Soda Creek students
look forward to the rest of the year. Mrs. Larson – Music Teacher
